Tripura CM Urges Faster Justice Delivery
Tripura CM demands faster, affordable justice for all.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha made a passionate appeal to the judiciary on Saturday, urging it to deliver justice swiftly and ensure the legal process remains affordable for litigants. Speaking at the inauguration of a new sub-divisional court in Mohanpur, West Tripura, Saha emphasized the need for an efficient judicial system to maintain public trust and support India’s vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) and Viksit Tripura (Developed Tripura).
“There must be a concerted effort to expedite justice delivery to uphold the faith people place in our judiciary,” Saha said. He highlighted that delays in court proceedings, often caused by advocates seeking additional time, can hinder timely judgments. “The preparation of an advocate is crucial, as judges rely on the evidence presented to deliver verdicts. I urge the judiciary to make justice faster, fairer, and more accessible to all,” he added, stressing the importance of affordability in legal processes.
Saha also praised the progress made under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, noting that India is advancing in security, development, and welfare. He underscored the judiciary’s pivotal role in achieving the state and national goals of holistic development. “The judiciary acts as a checkpoint, ensuring fairness and guiding us on the right path when deviations occur,” he said, without elaborating on specific instances.

The Chief Minister highlighted Tripura’s achievements, including a remarkable 14.21% growth in the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for the 2023-24 financial year, a feat he claimed was unprecedented. “Despite budgetary constraints, Tripura has emerged as a top performer in the country, with significant strides in education, healthcare, livelihood, and infrastructure,” he said, crediting the state government’s relentless efforts.
The event was attended by prominent figures, including Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ratan Lal Nath and Chief Justice of Tripura High Court MS Ramchandra Rao, who joined Saha in inaugurating the new court facility. The establishment of the sub-divisional court in Mohanpur is expected to enhance access to justice for local residents, reducing the burden on higher courts and streamlining legal proceedings in the region.
Saha’s call for judicial reform reflects a broader commitment to improving governance and public welfare in Tripura. By advocating for a more efficient and affordable judicial system, the Chief Minister aims to strengthen public confidence in the legal framework while aligning with the state’s development goals. As Tripura continues its journey toward progress, the judiciary’s role in ensuring swift and equitable justice remains more critical than ever.
