Tragedy in Chhatarpur: Three Siblings Drown in Water-Filled Pit
Siblings drown in tragic Madhya Pradesh accident.
Three minor siblings, Lakshmi (10), Tanu (8), and Lokendra (4), tragically drowned in a water-filled pit in Hatwa village, Chhatarpur district, Madhya Pradesh, on Monday evening, police confirmed. The incident occurred 70 km from the district headquarters, under the Prakash Bamhori police station area.
According to Sub-Divisional Officer of Police Naveen Dubey, the children were playing near the pit when they ventured into it, became trapped in the deep water, and drowned. Villagers and local authorities later recovered the bodies, which were sent to the district hospital for post-mortem examination.
A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the circumstances of the tragedy. Posts on X expressed grief over the incident, reflecting a wave of sorrow in the local community. This incident follows a similar tragedy in Chhatarpur’s Utavali village last month, where three siblings drowned in a pond, highlighting the dangers of water bodies during the monsoon season.
