TIRUPATI NEAR YOU! TTD Plans Grand Balaji Temples in Every State Capital
Chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has written to the chief ministers of several states across India, requesting land allocations for the construction of grand temples dedicated to the deity in every state capital.
In a significant move to expand the spiritual and cultural footprint of Lord Venkateswara, B R Naidu, chairman of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), has written to the chief ministers of several states across India, requesting land allocations for the construction of grand temples dedicated to the deity in every state capital. The initiative aims to bring the divine presence of Lord Venkateswara, worshipped by millions, closer to devotees nationwide while promoting cultural unity and temple tourism.
Naidu, who helms the operations of the world-famous and wealthiest Hindu temple in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, took this step following explicit instructions from Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. "On the directions of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, TTD Trust Board chairman B R Naidu has appealed to the chief ministers of various states to allot free land in their respective state capitals for the construction of Srivari temples," an official release confirmed.
The TTD chairman emphasized that these temples would transcend their role as mere spiritual hubs. "Temples are vital for societal development," Naidu stated, highlighting their potential to uplift communities, preserve age-old traditions, and stimulate local economies through temple tourism. "We are witnessing a growing inclination toward spirituality across the country. Every state capital deserves a Venkateswara temple, and we envision Srivari temples dotting major regions nationwide," he added.
Naidu further elaborated on the broader significance of this ambitious project, noting that temples act as custodians of India’s rich cultural heritage. By establishing these sacred spaces, the TTD aims to strengthen the nation’s spiritual fabric while offering devotees accessible places of worship. The initiative reflects a blend of faith, tradition, and progress, aligning with the TTD’s mission to extend the reach of Lord Venkateswara’s blessings beyond Tirupati.
