The Guruvayur-Kunnamkulam road is an important road corridor in Thrissur district and witnesses have reported the dangers posed by vehicles travelling at high speeds. Police have begun examining the circumstances surrounding the collision, including how the car lost control and whether excessive speed contributed to the crash.
The accident also highlights the risks faced by motorists who stop along busy roads, particularly at night. Even when vehicles are stationary, poor visibility and approaching traffic can create dangerous situations. Road safety officials and police routinely advise motorists to move as far away from active traffic lanes as possible when stopping for emergencies or phone calls.
