Three Dead, Six Injured as Innova Crashes Into BC Road Circle in Bantwal

Three dead, six injured in early-morning road accident at Bantwal’s BC Road Circle.

A tragic accident claimed three lives and left six others seriously injured at the BC Road Circle in Bantwal early Sunday morning. The group, travelling in an Innova from Bengaluru to Udupi’s Sri Krishna Math for a temple visit, met with the accident at around 4:40 am when their vehicle crashed violently into the Narayana Guru Circle.

The deceased—identified as Ravi (64), Ramya (23), and Nanjamma (75), all residents of Peenya, Bengaluru—either died on the spot or succumbed to injuries later at various hospitals. Among the injured, Keerthi, Sushila, Bindu, and Prashanth are reported to be in critical condition and are receiving intensive care. The driver, Subrahmanya, and passenger Kiran sustained minor injuries and are out of danger.

Due to the severe impact, the vehicle was completely mangled. One of the deceased bodies is at Bantwal Government Hospital, while the other two are held at a private hospital in Mangaluru for further procedures. Eyewitnesses and locals blamed the accident on the unscientific design and safety flaws of the traffic circle, highlighting urgent road safety concerns.
