Three-Day RSS Coordination Meeting Begins In Jodhpur
The RSS coordination meeting begins in Jodhpur with senior functionaries.
A three-day all-India coordination meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its affiliated organizations kicked off in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, on Friday, bringing together senior functionaries to discuss key national issues. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and general secretary Dattatreya Hosabale are among the prominent attendees, joined by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president JP Nadda, who arrived the previous evening. The gathering aims to address topics related to national unity, security, and social perspectives, fostering dialogue among approximately 320 representatives from 32 organizations. This event underscores the RSS's role as a major socio-cultural entity in India, providing a platform for strategic discussions on contemporary challenges and future initiatives.
The meeting's agenda centers on five primary themes: promoting social harmony, strengthening family institutions, encouraging eco-friendly lifestyles, developing self-reliant structures, and emphasizing citizens' duties alongside assessments of social and economic conditions across various regions. Representatives from diverse affiliates, such as the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), which focuses on students; Bharatiya Kisan Sangh, catering to farmers; Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, representing laborers; Vidya Bharati, involved in education; and SAKSHAM, supporting the differently-abled, will present their annual reports. These presentations will highlight the organizations' activities, experiences, and achievements over the past year, offering insights into their contributions to societal development and allowing for collaborative exchange.
Discussions will also delve into specific regional concerns, including the social and economic situations in Punjab, West Bengal, Assam, and the tribal areas of the northeast. Participants will review the progress of initiatives related to the National Education Policy (NEP 2020), exploring ways to guide the education sector positively and integrate efforts to connect tribal communities with the mainstream. This focus reflects ongoing efforts to address educational and social disparities, evaluating positive changes and planning for more inclusive outreach programs.

Preparations for the RSS's centenary year, spanning 2025-26, form another key component of the meeting. Starting from October 2, 2025, on Vijayadashami Day in Nagpur, the centenary celebrations will include events like Hindu conferences, home contact drives, harmony meetings, intellectual gatherings, and youth programs across the country. The sarsanghchalak will inaugurate these activities, with swayamsevaks participating in uniform at various levels. However, the meeting itself is not intended for passing resolutions but serves as a forum for coordination, inspiration, and idea-sharing, allowing each organization to determine its independent future actions based on the insights gained.
This coordination meeting occurs against the backdrop of the RSS's recent programs in Delhi, signaling an effort to expand its ideological reach across society. By facilitating such gatherings, the RSS aims to strengthen its network and respond effectively to evolving national dynamics, though the outcomes will depend on how the discussed ideas are implemented by individual affiliates.
