The World Record For Filling Potholes! Delhi PWD Aims To Fill 3,400 Potholes Tomorrow

Delhi PWD Aims for World Record by Filling 3,400 Potholes in a Single Day: Minister Parvesh Verma

In an ambitious bid to set a global benchmark, Delhi’s Public Works Department (PWD) will attempt to fill 3,400 potholes across the city’s 1,400-km road network on Tuesday, PWD Minister Parvesh Verma declared on Monday.

The initiative, touted as a first-of-its-kind world record attempt, follows meticulous planning, with all potholes geo-tagged pre-monsoon. “I’ll personally inspect sites to ensure quality,” Verma said, emphasizing transparency. Before-and-after photos, along with locations, will be uploaded on the PWD website for public verification.

Around 200 maintenance vans, loaded with pre-mixed material, will fan out across Delhi, divided into zones for efficiency and tracked in real-time. “This reflects our commitment to good governance,” Verma added, noting that 150 km of roads have been repaired in the last four months, with another 100 km targeted.

The drive, sparked by public complaints and ground surveys, will adhere to strict quality standards, with no area overlooked, officials confirmed. “We’ve mapped every pothole to streamline this massive operation,” Verma said, underscoring the project’s scale and speed.

As Delhi gears up for this record-breaking effort, the initiative promises smoother roads and a bold statement on urban governance, with all eyes on the PWD’s execution on Tuesday.
