Tesla To Open Sales And Service Facility In Hyderabad Amid India Expansion
Tesla strengthens India expansion plans with new Hyderabad service facility.
Tesla has expressed interest in establishing a sales and service centre in Hyderabad, according to the Telangana government. The development emerged following a meeting between representatives of Tesla India and Telangana IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu on Friday.
According to a statement shared by the state Information and Public Relations department on X, Tesla representatives conveyed their plans to launch operations in Hyderabad as part of the company’s expansion strategy in India. The department stated that Tesla is preparing to set up a sales and service centre in the city, further strengthening Hyderabad’s position as a growing hub for advanced technology and mobility industries.
During the meeting, Sridhar Babu highlighted Telangana’s rapidly expanding ecosystem for electric vehicles and intelligent mobility systems. He said the state has developed strong capabilities in semiconductor design, automobile software, electronics engineering and deep technology sectors, making Hyderabad an attractive destination for global technology-driven companies.

The minister also congratulated Tesla India General Manager Sharad Agarwal and the company’s Lead Public Policy and Business Development Director Rajat for choosing Hyderabad as the next location for Tesla’s expansion in the country. He noted that the decision came after Tesla had already established showrooms in four other parts of India.
Telangana officials described the proposed expansion as a significant boost for the state’s ambitions to become a leading destination for electric mobility and clean technology investments. The government has been actively promoting policies aimed at attracting global automobile and technology firms, particularly in the electric vehicle sector.
Babu also invited Tesla to explore opportunities for establishing ancillary industries and supply-chain operations in Telangana. He assured the company of full government support for investments in technology, manufacturing and industrial infrastructure, signalling the state’s intent to deepen collaboration with global electric vehicle manufacturers.
