Terrorists Gunned Down in J-K Infiltration Attempt

Security forces thwart infiltration, eliminate two terrorists in Bandipora.

Security forces successfully neutralized two terrorists attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in the Gurez sector of Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Thursday, the Indian Army reported. The operation, launched based on precise intelligence from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, showcased the vigilance and coordination of the Indian Army and local law enforcement.

According to the Army’s Srinagar-based Chinar Corps, the joint operation began after credible inputs indicated a potential infiltration bid. Alert troops deployed in the rugged terrain of Gurez detected suspicious movement along the LoC. When challenged, the infiltrators opened indiscriminate fire, prompting a swift and effective response from the security forces. “Troops engaged with precision, neutralizing two terrorists,” the Chinar Corps stated on X.

The operation, which underscores the security forces’ commitment to safeguarding the region, remains ongoing as troops continue to monitor the area for additional threats. The Army has not released further details about the identities of the terrorists or any recovered materials, but the successful intervention highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in countering cross-border terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
