Telangana Launches Welfare Schemes for Minority Community Support

Telangana launches welfare schemes to empower minority communities with financial aid.

The Telangana Congress government introduced two welfare schemes aimed at bolstering economic opportunities for minority communities. The initiatives, inaugurated by State Minister for Minorities Adluri Laxman Kumar at the Secretariat in Hyderabad, are designed to promote self-employment and provide financial assistance to marginalized groups.

The 'Indiramma Minority Mahila Yojana' offers Rs 50,000 in financial aid to widows, divorcees, orphans, and unmarried women from minority communities to foster self-reliance through entrepreneurship. The second scheme, 'Revanth Anna ka Sahara-Miskeen la Kosam' (Revanth’s Support to the Poor), provides a Rs 1 lakh grant to members of the ‘Fakeer’ and ‘Dudekula’ communities, targeting economically disadvantaged groups.

To ensure accessibility, the government has launched a dedicated online portal (tgobmms.cgg.gov.in) for registrations, with applications accepted exclusively online until October 6, 2025. Offline applications will not be considered. The state has allocated Rs 30 crore to fund these initiatives, signaling a strong commitment to minority welfare.
