Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy issued immediate directives on Monday to senior officials for compiling comprehensive details regarding the tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia that involved residents of Hyderabad. The incident transpired as the vehicle, transporting Indian Umrah pilgrims, was en route from Makkah to Madina, prompting urgent coordination with central authorities. Reddy instructed Chief Secretary K Ramakrishna Rao and Director General of Police Shivadhar Reddy to liaise directly with the Ministry of External Affairs and the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia to ascertain the full scope of the calamity and identify affected individuals from the state.
A dedicated control room has been established within the Secretariat in Hyderabad to facilitate communication with the families of those impacted by the accident, providing essential updates and support.
