Tejashwi Yadav Vows to Take Oath on November 18, Dismisses Exit Polls
Exit polls fake, Bihar braces for 1995-style upheaval.
RJD leader and INDIA bloc Chief Ministerial face Tejashwi Prasad Yadav declared on Wednesday that he will take oath as Bihar Chief Minister on November 18, boldly rejecting exit polls forecasting NDA’s victory as orchestrated propaganda. Addressing media after the second phase of polling concluded on Tuesday, he alleged the surveys were deliberately released while voting was in progress to create psychological pressure on election officials and potentially delay the counting scheduled for November 14. Tejashwi emphasized that such timing exposes a calculated attempt to influence the democratic process and undermine public mandate.
Drawing a historical parallel, Tejashwi compared the current political climate in Bihar to the 1995 assembly elections when Lalu Prasad Yadav’s Janata Dal swept to power, ending long-standing dominance. “The atmosphere in Bihar is exactly like 1995—this time change is certain,” he asserted, citing overwhelming ground reports of massive turnout in favor of the RJD-led Mahagathbandhan. He claimed booth-level feedback shows strong consolidation among youth, unemployed, farmers, and marginalized communities frustrated with governance failures under Nitish Kumar.
The former Deputy Chief Minister accused the NDA of sponsoring misleading exit polls to demoralize opposition workers and manipulate public perception ahead of results. He warned that any attempt to tamper with EVMs or slow down counting would be met with fierce resistance, urging INDIA bloc agents to maintain strict vigilance at every counting center. Tejashwi expressed confidence that the actual votes will reflect a clear anti-incumbency wave, dismantling the NDA’s projected majority.

With results just days away, Tejashwi’s aggressive November 18 oath announcement has electrified the opposition camp, triggering a surge in cadre mobilization across districts. Senior RJD leaders echoed his sentiment, asserting that internal surveys show the Mahagathbandhan crossing the majority mark comfortably. The party has deployed legal teams and observer networks to ensure transparency during counting.
As Bihar stands on the cusp of a potential political earthquake, Tejashwi’s defiance has thrown down the gauntlet to the ruling NDA, transforming the final stretch into a high-voltage battle of narratives. With both sides digging in, the November 14 verdict will determine whether his prophecy of change materializes or remains a defiant claim.
