Tejashwi Yadav Exposes Bihar DyCM’s Dual Voter IDs, Demands Action

Tejashwi alleges voter fraud by DyCM

In a bombshell accusation, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav has alleged that Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha holds two Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPIC) in separate constituencies, raising questions of electoral fraud and prompting demands for his resignation. The claims, made during a press conference in Patna on August 10, 2025, have intensified a political firestorm ahead of Bihar’s Assembly elections.

Yadav revealed that Sinha is registered as a voter in both Lakhisarai (EPIC: IAF3939337, age 57) and Bankipur, Patna (EPIC: AFS0853341, age 60), with discrepancies in his recorded age. “Is this not fraud and an age scam?” Yadav questioned, alleging that Sinha deliberately signed forms to secure dual voter registrations, a violation of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. He challenged the Election Commission (EC), asking, “If Sinha didn’t sign both forms, did the EC create two votes with forged signatures? Will he face two notices, or are these rules only for opposition leaders?”

The allegations follow the EC’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of Bihar’s voter rolls, which Yadav claims failed to catch Sinha’s dual registration. He demanded an FIR against Sinha and questioned why the EC hasn’t issued him a notice, contrasting it with their swift action against Yadav for similar allegations. On August 2, Yadav faced scrutiny over claims of holding two EPIC numbers himself, to which he responded, “They make the mistake and demand an explanation from me.”

Bihar Congress chief Rajesh Kumar amplified the accusations, sharing screenshots of draft electoral rolls showing Sinha’s dual registrations, though their authenticity remains unverified. Kumar questioned whether Sinha had been voting in both constituencies and called for legal action.

Sinha countered, stating he had requested the removal of his name from Bankipur’s voter list after it appeared in both constituencies, attributing the error to his family’s prior residence in Patna. “I applied for deletion in April 2024,” he said, accusing Yadav of spreading false claims.

The controversy, fueled by social media posts and opposition outrage, has sparked debates about the EC’s oversight and electoral integrity. Yadav, leveraging the #VoteChori hashtag, alleged BJP collusion with the EC to manipulate voter lists, a claim echoed by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

With over 6.5 million duplicate names removed during the SIR, the focus on Sinha’s case underscores broader concerns about voter roll accuracy as Bihar gears up for polls.
