Suresh Gopi Assures Repatriation Steps For Keralites Murdered in US

Union Minister Suresh Gopi on Monday assured that all necessary steps would be taken to bring back the mortal remains of two women from Kerala who were allegedly murdered in California, United States. The two deaths have caused concern among their families in Kerala, who are seeking the repatriation of the remains so that the women can be brought back home. Gopi's assurance comes as relatives work with authorities to complete the procedures required for the repatriation.

According to their relatives, the deceased women have been identified as Anjana, a native of Mudikkode in Thrissur, and Ann Mathew, who was from Kesavadasapuram in Thiruvananthapuram. Both women were reportedly living in the United States when the alleged incident took place. Their families in Kerala have been seeking assistance in bringing their remains back to the State following the deaths.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths are being investigated by authorities in the United States. According to Anjana's relative Vinod, the suspect has been identified as Anila, a native of Kottayam who was reportedly a friend of the two women. Vinod said Anila is currently in the custody of US police in connection with the case.

The alleged involvement of someone known to the deceased has added another dimension to the case as investigators examine the circumstances that led to the deaths. For the families of Anjana and Ann Mathew, the immediate priority is the return of their remains to Kerala. The Minister said steps would be taken to facilitate the return of the two women's remains to Kerala. Meanwhile, the US police investigation into the alleged murders and the circumstances surrounding the deaths is continuing, with the reported custody of the suspect forming a key part of the ongoing proceedings.
