Dean Cain, famed for playing Superman in the 1990s TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, is set to become an honorary officer with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The announcement follows Cain’s public support for President Donald Trump’s mass deportation agenda, with the actor confirming his commitment in a Fox News interview on Wednesday.
Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin of the Department of Homeland Security stated Thursday that Cain, 59, will be sworn in within the next month. While the specific duties of an honorary ICE officer remain unclear, Cain’s involvement aligns with ICE’s aggressive recruitment drive, bolstered by a $75 billion congressional funding boost to hire 10,000 new agents by 2029. The agency has also removed age limits for new hires to expand its workforce.
Cain, already a sworn deputy sheriff and reserve police officer, shared a recruitment video on Instagram, set to the Superman theme, urging others to join ICE. “This country was built on patriots stepping up,” Cain told Fox News, emphasizing his belief in Trump’s immigration policies. “It’s what I voted for, and I’ll help make it happen.”

A vocal Trump supporter, Cain has endorsed the president in three elections and recently criticized the new Superman film, starring David Corenswet, as “woke” after director James Gunn likened the character to an immigrant. The film, grossing over $550 million, sparked debate among conservative commentators.
ICE’s intensified raids, targeting at least 3,000 arrests daily, have drawn protests nationwide, with reports of detentions affecting undocumented immigrants, legal residents, and even U.S. citizens. Critics argue the operations often bypass due process, fueling public outcry.
Neither Cain’s representatives nor Warner Bros. responded to requests for comment.
