SSC SCO Exam 2026: Vacancies, Eligibility And Last Date to Apply

The Staff Selection Commission has opened the application process for the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply for the recruitment examination through the commission’s official website, ssc.gov.in. The recruitment drive aims to fill 2,021 Sub-Inspector vacancies across Delhi Police and various Central Armed Police Forces.

The last date to submit the online application is September 30, 2026, while the deadline for online fee payment is October 1. Candidates will be allowed to make corrections to their submitted applications between October 8 and October 10. Applicants have been advised to carefully check all details before submitting the form and completing the fee payment process.

The vacancies include 205 posts for male Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police and 112 posts for female Sub-Inspectors. The recruitment also covers 1,452 Sub-Inspector posts in the General Duty category of the Central Armed Police Forces. In addition, 252 male Sub-Inspector posts are available in the Fire wing of the Central Industrial Security Force.

Candidates applying for the examination must hold a bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university. Those who have appeared for their final degree examination may also apply, subject to meeting the prescribed eligibility conditions. The age limit for most posts is between 20 and 25 years, with applicants required to have been born between August 2, 2001, and August 1, 2006.

For the CISF Sub-Inspector Fire post, the age limit is 18 to 30 years. Candidates for this category must have been born between August 2, 1996, and August 1, 2008. Applicants should review the official notification for detailed educational, physical and category-wise eligibility requirements before completing the registration process.

The selection process will consist of Paper I, the Physical Standard Test or Physical Endurance Test, Paper II and the Detailed Medical Examination. Paper I will carry 100 questions for 100 marks, while Paper II will contain 160 questions carrying 320 marks. Negative marking will apply, with 0.25 marks deducted for each incorrect answer in Paper I and 0.50 marks in Paper II. The application fee is ₹100, although women candidates, Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and eligible Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from payment.
