SSC Releases Tentative Exam Calendar for 2026-27: Check Key Dates for CGL, CHSL, and More

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the tentative exam schedule for the 2026–27 recruitment cycle, bringing clarity and direction for millions of government job aspirants. According to the released calendar, examinations will commence from May 2026 and continue till March 2027, covering a wide range of posts across ministries and departments.

The calendar includes Limited Departmental Competitive Examinations (LDCE) such as JSA/LDC, SSA/UDC, and ASO Grade, with advertisements expected on March 16, 2026. These exams are scheduled to be conducted in May 2026, providing a focused timeline for departmental candidates under DoPT and other government offices.

Major national-level exams like the Combined Graduate Level (CGL), Junior Engineer (JE), Selection Post Phase-XIV, and Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) are slated between May and September 2026. These exams cater to graduates, diploma holders, and 10+2 qualified candidates, making them among the most competitive SSC recruitments.

Other popular examinations, including Stenographer Grade C & D, Hindi Translators, Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS), Havaldar, and Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and CAPFs, will be conducted from August to November 2026. The SSC GD Constable exam is expected to stretch into early 2027, reflecting its large-scale recruitment nature.

SSC conducts these examinations to fill vacancies for candidates who have passed Class 10, Class 12, or hold a graduate degree, across various government ministries, departments, and organizations. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official SSC website and align their preparation strategies well in advance, as this calendar plays a crucial role in long-term exam planning.
