Chaos erupted aboard the Hassan–Solapur Superfast Express (Train No. 11312) early Monday when dense smoke poured from the fourth coach near Marathur village, Kalaburagi district, around 5:45 AM. The train, en route to Solapur, Maharashtra, was halted after alert railway staff detected the issue, traced to a brake binding malfunction, railway officials confirmed.
Fearing a fire, passengers evacuated with their luggage in a state of panic. Swift intervention by railway personnel resolved the issue, ensuring no injuries or damage. A technical inspection is underway to pinpoint the cause of the fault, with authorities emphasizing the importance of rigorous maintenance to prevent such incidents.
