Smoke Scare Sparks Panic on Hassan-Solapur Express in Karnataka

Chaos erupted aboard the Hassan–Solapur Superfast Express (Train No. 11312) early Monday when dense smoke poured from the fourth coach near Marathur village, Kalaburagi district, around 5:45 AM. The train, en route to Solapur, Maharashtra, was halted after alert railway staff detected the issue, traced to a brake binding malfunction, railway officials confirmed.

Fearing a fire, passengers evacuated with their luggage in a state of panic. Swift intervention by railway personnel resolved the issue, ensuring no injuries or damage. A technical inspection is underway to pinpoint the cause of the fault, with authorities emphasizing the importance of rigorous maintenance to prevent such incidents. The scare briefly disrupted the journey, but the train resumed after the situation was stabilized, calming rattled commuters.
