Police vehicle hits divider, injuring six
Six police constables were injured early Saturday, when their vehicle collided with a road divider on the Prayagraj-Lucknow highway near Sheikhpur, under Kunda police station limits, approximately 70 km from Pratapgarh district headquarters.The accident occurred around 5:30 AM as the constables, part of an escort team heading to Hathigawan, lost control of their vehicle, according to ASP (West) Sanjay Rai.
The injured were promptly rushed to the Kunda community health centre for treatment. No fatalities were reported, and the police are investigating the cause of the crash, with preliminary findings suggesting loss of control.
Local authorities ensured swift medical response, and the incident has raised concerns about road safety on the busy highway, a key route connecting Prayagraj and Lucknow. Social media posts from locals expressed relief that the injuries were not life-threatening, while calling for better safety measures.
