Sharad Pawar Recovering Well, Set To Leave Hospital In Two Days: Doctors Confirm
Sharad Pawar shows consistent improvement and is expected to be discharged soon.
Veteran Politician and Nationalist Congress Party (SP) President Sharad Pawar, aged 85, is showing steady improvement in his health following his admission to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune. Doctors treating him reported on Wednesday that his condition remains stable, with vital parameters within normal limits and his overall clinical status described as reassuring. Pawar was admitted on Monday after experiencing chest congestion, fatigue, coughing, and breathing difficulties.
The medical team, led by Dr. Simon Grant, physician and trustee of the hospital, stated that Pawar's chest congestion is responding well to treatment, including a course of antibiotics. He is under observation in a general ward, with no requirement for oxygen support or intensive care. "Sharad Pawar is stable and improving steadily," Dr. Grant said in an official statement. "His vital parameters remain within normal limits, and his overall clinical condition is stable and reassuring."
Pawar's daughter, Supriya Sule, had earlier shared that her father developed chest congestion and would require a five-day antibiotic regimen. The family requested privacy and urged supporters not to gather at the hospital to avoid inconvenience. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also called to inquire about Pawar's well-being shortly after his admission, reflecting cross-party concern for the senior leader's health.

Based on his consistent progress under medical supervision, the hospital's doctors are planning for Pawar's discharge in the next two days, subject to continued recovery. No complications have been reported, and the treatment has been progressing smoothly since his arrival from Baramati.
This health scare comes amid Pawar's active role in national politics, where he remains a prominent opposition figure. Well-wishers and political leaders across parties have expressed relief at the positive updates and wished him a full and speedy recovery. Further details on his discharge and any follow-up care are expected as his condition evolves.
