Security Forces Launch Massive Hunt for Terrorists in Rajouri, Udhampur

A high-stakes search operation is underway in the rugged terrains of Rajouri and Udhampur districts in Jammu and Kashmir, as security forces intensify efforts to track down terrorists believed to be hiding in remote forest areas. On Tuesday evening, a brief but intense exchange of fire occurred between police and suspected terrorists in the Beeranthub area of Kandi in Rajouri district. Around the same time, three suspected terrorists were spotted moving through the Dharni Top area of Basantgarh in Udhampur district. Acting swiftly, security forces established a tight cordon around both locations and launched a massive joint search operation at dawn on Wednesday to locate and neutralize the threats.

Inspector General of Police, Jammu, Bhim Sen Tuti, provided details of the initial encounter, stating, “An exchange of fire took place between terrorists and our Special Operations Group team in Beeranthub, Kandi, Rajouri. Joint parties of police, Army, and CRPF have cordoned off the area and are conducting thorough searches.” While no further contact with the terrorists has been reported, the operation has been expanded to cover adjoining areas to ensure no escape routes remain open.
