Security Forces Hunt 40-50 Terrorists in Jammu

Anti-drone measures, night ops intensify

Security forces in Jammu are intensifying efforts to track 40-50 terrorists, predominantly Pakistani nationals, operating in multiple groups across Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Doda, and Udhampur districts, official sources revealed. The region remains under control, with multi-layered measures, including an anti-drone strategy and enhanced night operations, keeping terrorists on the run.

Sources indicate that 80% of the terrorists are Pakistani, active south of the Pir Panjal range. Counter-terror operations, driven by precise intelligence, are targeting hinterlands like Kishtwar and Basantgarh. Reinforcements have bolstered high-sensitivity areas, with troops dominating higher reaches using night vision devices and modern equipment. “They are being tracked and are on the run,” a source stated, emphasizing tightened surveillance.

Previously exploited infiltration routes into Kashmir have been sealed, with forces on high alert to thwart cross-border attempts. While no credible evidence suggests Pakistani regulars are involved, reports indicate terrorists are being staged along the border. A recent encounter in Kishtwar’s Chatroo area saw militants, caught off guard by troops in strategic positions, retaliate with a grenade, signaling their growing unease.

The revised anti-terror strategy prioritizes night operations to disrupt terrorist movements in hilly terrains. “We are tightening the noose. They are finding it increasingly difficult to move,” sources said, vowing to neutralize the threat. The past three years have seen numerous attacks and encounters in Jammu’s hilly districts, resulting in casualties among security forces.
