Local residents noticed the child playing with the unfamiliar optical device, prompting immediate alerts to authorities who subsequently interviewed the family; they confirmed that the boy had picked up the item from discarded waste in the vicinity earlier that same morning, leading to rapid mobilization of investigative teams.

Jammu Rural Police, supported by Special Operations Group personnel, initiated a thorough search operation across the Sidhra locality, with senior officers arriving at the exact recovery site to supervise evidence collection and assess potential links to unauthorized arms proliferation in the sensitive Union Territory.
