The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has declared the Grade A Prelims Result 2026 for the Assistant Manager Phase 1 examination, making scorecards available to candidates on its official website. The announcement marks the completion of the first stage of the recruitment process for one of India’s most competitive regulatory examinations.
The SEBI Grade A recruitment drive for 2026 aims to fill a total of 135 vacancies across multiple streams, including General, Legal, Information Technology, Research, and other specialist roles. According to official data, around 86,588 candidates applied for these posts, highlighting the strong interest in careers within the capital markets regulator.
The Phase 1 preliminary examination was conducted on January 10, 2026, in online mode at examination centers across the country. Candidates who have cleared this stage are now eligible to appear for Phase 2, which is scheduled to be held on February 21, 2026. The dates for the interview round will be announced after the completion and evaluation of the Phase 2 examination.

To check the SEBI Grade A Phase 1 result and scorecard, candidates are required to visit the official SEBI website and navigate to the careers or recruitment section. After clicking on the relevant link for the Grade A Preliminary Examination 2026, candidates can view and download their scorecards for future reference. SEBI has advised candidates to retain a copy of the scorecard until the recruitment process is completed.
The Grade A recruitment process consists of three stages—Phase 1, Phase 2, and the interview—designed to assess candidates’ aptitude, subject knowledge, and suitability for regulatory roles. Clearing all stages is mandatory for final selection as an assistant manager.
With the declaration of the preliminary results, attention now shifts to the Phase 2 examination, which is considered more specialized and decisive. Candidates are advised to regularly check SEBI’s official website for updates on interview schedules, cut-off marks, and further instructions related to the recruitment process.
