Scandal in Worli: Aaditya Thackeray Exposes Shocking Flaws in Slum Redevelopment!

Aaditya Thackeray alleges irregularities in Worli’s slum redevelopment, demanding action on unpaid rents and unauthorized construction.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MLA Aaditya Thackeray has blown the lid off alleged irregularities in the Subhedar Ramji Ambedkar Nagar slum redevelopment project in Worli, demanding urgent action from the Maharashtra government. Speaking in the state legislative assembly on Wednesday, Thackeray accused authorities of mishandling the long-delayed project, which has been stalled for 15 years as multiple developers backed out amid controversies.

Thackeray highlighted a string of issues, including unpaid rent to project-affected residents for six months and unauthorized changes to the original layout plan. “Construction of saleable flats and even bungalows has started without completing rehabilitation buildings for slum dwellers,” he charged, alleging a lack of transparency and proper approvals. He also claimed that 70% of the project’s land, owned by the government, remains untransferred, raising questions about land allotment and potential financial losses to the state.

The Worli MLA demanded immediate payment of pending rents to affected residents and insisted that construction adhere to the original plan, with commercial shops upfront and saleable flats at the rear. “This is about justice for slum dwellers,” Thackeray declared, urging the Speaker and state government to investigate and rectify the discrepancies.
