SC orders probe into hospitals denying stabbed lawyer treatment
The Supreme Court of India has ordered a probe into allegations that three hospitals in the national capital denied treatment to a stabbed advocate, raising serious concerns about emergency medical care and institutional accountability.
The court took cognisance of the matter after reports emerged that the injured lawyer was refused immediate treatment despite being in critical condition. The advocate had reportedly sustained stab injuries and was taken to multiple hospitals in Delhi, but was allegedly turned away before eventually receiving care. The delay in treatment has since come under judicial scrutiny.
A bench of the apex court directed the relevant authorities to conduct a detailed inquiry into the sequence of events and determine whether medical protocols were violated.
