Russia Launches Massive Drone, Missile Attack on Ukraine

574 drones, 40 missiles target western regions, killing one

Russia unleashed one of its largest aerial assaults of 2025 on Ukraine overnight, deploying 574 drones and 40 missiles, primarily targeting western regions, the Ukrainian Air Force reported Thursday. The attack, involving Shahed drones, Iskander-M, Kinzhal, Kh-101, and Kalibr missiles, killed at least one person and injured 15, with significant damage reported in Mukachevo, Zakarpattia. Ukrainian defenses downed 546 drones and 31 missiles, per @DefenceU on X.

Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha revealed a “major American electronics manufacturer” was struck, though details remain undisclosed. The attack, described as a “massive terror escalation” by @strategywoman on X, hit regions far from the frontline, including Uzhhorod, near NATO borders.

This follows a pattern of intensified Russian barrages, with 6,443 drones and missiles launched in July alone, per ABC News. The strike, condemned as targeting civilian infrastructure, underscores ongoing challenges amid stalled peace talks, with @visionergeo noting Russia’s use of advanced AI-guided drones.
