RSS Coordination Meet Begins In Andhra, Demographic Changes, Youth Drug Abuse On Agenda
RSS meeting focuses on demographics, youth drug abuse and coordination.
The three-day all-India coordination meeting of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and 32 affiliated organisations began at Gudilova near Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat and General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale inaugurated the meeting at Vignan Vihar School by offering floral tributes before a portrait of Bharat Mata.
The annual meeting has brought together senior functionaries from the RSS and organisations associated with the Sangh. According to the RSS, the gathering provides a platform for participating organisations to share information about their activities, experiences, achievements and challenges over the past year. The meeting is attended by senior RSS functionaries, including assistant general secretaries and other central office-bearers.
Representatives from 32 organisations are participating in the meeting, including the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Bharatiya Janata Party, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, Bharatiya Kisan Sangh and Rashtra Sevika Samiti. A total of 327 representatives are participating, with 253 key functionaries from different organisations, including 49 women, attending the three-day gathering.

RSS Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Sunil Ambekar had earlier stated that the discussions would focus on strengthening coordination among the affiliated organisations and taking forward initiatives aimed at broader social welfare. Participating organisations are expected to present details of special initiatives undertaken during the year, their outcomes and the impact of developments in their respective fields.
The meeting will also discuss the prevailing situation in the country, social developments and contemporary issues. One of the key areas of discussion will be demographic changes, including concerns associated with such changes and possible measures to address them. The organisations will also review developments in different sectors and discuss ways to engage with society and governments where necessary.
Drug abuse among young people is another major issue on the meeting's agenda. Discussions will cover the adverse effects of substance abuse, measures related to de-addiction and coordinated efforts to create greater awareness among youth. The RSS has indicated that the three-day meeting will focus on developing greater coordination among its affiliated organisations while collectively addressing social concerns and public welfare initiatives.
