RSS Chief: India Must Lead the World in Ending War and Restoring Harmony

RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat urges India to lead global peace efforts, citing moral duty and Sanatan Dharma principles.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Friday highlighted India’s potential role in ending global conflicts, saying that “India can bring an end to the ongoing war” during the groundbreaking ceremony of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Vidarbha Prant office in Nagpur. He emphasized that the world increasingly looks to India for guidance and mediation amid rising geopolitical tensions.

Speaking on the escalating global crises, Bhagwat asserted that India’s inherent moral and spiritual foundation, rooted in Dharma, uniquely positions it to restore balance in troubled regions. He noted that voices from various countries are seeking India’s intervention, particularly in the Middle East, to bring peace and stability.

The RSS chief contrasted India’s historical values, emphasizing the “law of humanity,” with the contemporary global scenario dominated by a “law of the jungle” where might often justifies aggression. Using the parable of a wolf and a lamb, Bhagwat illustrated how power frequently suppresses truth and innocence in international affairs when moral authority is lacking.

Addressing ongoing conflicts in the Middle East and Europe, he argued that for over two millennia, ideologies have failed to bring lasting peace because they lacked interconnectedness and a sense of unity. Bhagwat identified selfish interests and ambitions for regional or global dominance as key drivers of modern warfare, calling it India’s “inter-connected duty” to provide a stable moral foundation for the world.

Beyond foreign policy, Bhagwat underscored the importance of internal strength and moral conduct within India. He noted that despite differences in faiths such as Jainism, Buddhism, and Sikhism, Indian philosophical traditions converge on principles of truth, non-violence, and service to others. He stressed that a strong and united society is necessary because “the world does not respect the weak,” regardless of their moral or ethical standing.

Concluding his remarks, Bhagwat stated that India’s material and economic progress will naturally follow once the nation prepares itself to fulfil its global duty of spreading harmony. He reiterated that internal unity and moral awakening are key to enabling India to play a pivotal role on the world stage.
