RSS Chief: India Must Become Strong, Wealthy Lion

Bharat’s Identity Key to Global Respect

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat emphasized that India must transform into a powerful and wealthy nation to earn global respect, speaking at the 'Gyan Sabha' education conference organized by the RSS-linked Shiksha Sanskriti Utthan Nyas in Kochi on Sunday. “The world understands power. Bharat should become strong and economically wealthy, not just a golden bird but a lion,” he declared.

Bhagwat stressed that Bharat, as a proper noun, should retain its unique identity. “Bharat is Bharat, not just India. Its identity commands respect globally. Losing it diminishes our standing, no matter our merits,” he said, urging the use of “Bharat” in all discourse to preserve its cultural significance.

Addressing educators, including Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and university Vice Chancellors, Bhagwat redefined education as a holistic process beyond schooling, encompassing home and societal environments. “True Bharatiya education teaches sacrifice and living for others, not selfishness,” he said, advocating for an atmosphere that fosters responsible and confident future generations.
