RJD’s CM Candidate Tejashwi Yadav Vows to Make Bihar ‘Number One’

INDIA bloc’s CM pick vows corruption-free, progressive Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav, the INDIA bloc’s chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar assembly elections, unveiled an ambitious vision on Friday, pledging to make Bihar the “number one” state with a corruption-free government. Speaking to reporters in Patna, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader emphasized a governance model centered on addressing public grievances, ensuring affordable healthcare, and creating job opportunities.

“My dream is to make Bihar number one,” Tejashwi declared. “Bihar deserves a government that prioritizes education, healthcare, employment, irrigation, and listens to its people. We envision a Bihar where no one needs to leave for treatment or jobs.” The 35-year-old, who could become Bihar’s youngest chief minister if the INDIA bloc wins, vowed to establish a crime-free and corruption-free administration, promising tangible action to uplift the state.

The opposition alliance, comprising the RJD, Congress, and other partners, named Tejashwi as its CM candidate on Thursday, aiming to project unity and end internal disputes ahead of the November 6 and 11 polls, with results due on November 14. Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot, stationed in Patna to broker coalition harmony, announced that Vikassheel Insan Party (VIP) chief Mukesh Sahni and other community leaders would serve as deputy CMs to reflect Bihar’s diverse social fabric.

Tejashwi took a sharp jab at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “jungle raj” remark targeting the RJD’s past rule, questioning Modi’s inaction against Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, an NDA ally with 55 alleged cases against him. “Jungle raj is where criminals are protected, and crimes like rape, murder, and corruption occur daily,” Tejashwi retorted, accusing the BJP of misusing government agencies while setting up factories in Gujarat but seeking votes in Bihar. He criticized the NDA’s “double engine” government, labeling one engine as corruption and the other as crime.

The RJD leader’s promises come amid heightened political tensions, with the INDIA bloc aiming to unseat the NDA’s 20-year rule. Tejashwi expressed gratitude to his coalition partners for their trust and vowed to deliver a government that serves all sections of society, ensuring inclusivity and progress.

As Bihar gears up for a fiercely contested election, Tejashwi’s bold agenda and sharp rhetoric signal a determined campaign to reshape the state’s future, banking on voter frustration with the incumbent government’s record on crime and governance.
