Rescue Teams Find Two Poodles Alive In Venezuela Earthquake Rubble

Two poodles refuse to leave rubble after Venezuela earthquake.

Amid widespread devastation caused by recent earthquakes in Venezuela, a deeply emotional rescue operation has gone viral after firefighters pulled two small poodles alive from the rubble of a collapsed home. The incident has drawn global attention, highlighting moments of compassion and resilience even in the midst of disaster.

According to emergency footage shared widely on social media, rescue teams were preparing to leave a collapsed residential site when they suddenly heard faint barking coming from beneath the debris. Acting on the sound, firefighters immediately halted their withdrawal and returned to search the wreckage more carefully, believing that an animal might still be trapped inside.

After locating the source, rescuers carefully began removing layers of concrete and twisted debris by hand. The video shows the two white poodles being gently extracted from a narrow cavity under the collapsed structure. Though visibly frightened and covered in dust, both animals appeared to be alive and unharmed, prompting emotional reactions from viewers online.

A caption accompanying the viral clip described one of the dogs as “not wanting to abandon its house,” while an overlay reading “Cada vida IMPORTA” (“Every life matters”) further amplified the emotional impact of the moment. The footage quickly spread across platforms such as X, where users expressed empathy for the pets and praised the rescuers for their patience and care during the operation.

In a separate but related incident, the Caracas Fire Department reported another successful rescue in which a dog was pulled from beneath rubble following twin earthquakes measuring 7.5 and 7.2 in magnitude that struck the region on June 24. Officials said the animal was discovered after firefighters heard faint barking while concluding search operations, prompting them to restart their efforts and carefully clear debris until the dog was safely recovered.

Authorities stated that search-and-rescue operations remain ongoing across affected areas as teams continue to sift through collapsed structures. While details about the exact location of the poodle rescue remain unclear, officials emphasized that efforts are being made to save both human and animal lives as Venezuela continues to grapple with the aftermath of the powerful earthquakes.
