“Ready For Business”: Assam CM’s Fresh Pitch To Industry Leaders
Himanta Sarma invites investors to explore Assam’s business opportunities.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday made a fresh appeal to industries and investors to set up operations in the state, positioning Assam as an emerging business destination in the Northeast. In a post on X, Sarma invited businesses to invest in Assam and make the state their “home”, while highlighting government efforts to create a supportive environment for industrial growth.
Sarma pointed to investor-friendly policies, infrastructure and availability of land as key components of the ecosystem being developed for businesses. He noted that the state government was working to create conditions that could help companies establish operations faster, expand their presence and pursue new projects. The focus, he indicated, is on making the investment process more conducive to businesses across sectors.
The Chief Minister highlighted the combination of policy support and physical infrastructure as part of Assam’s broader investment strategy. By emphasising ready infrastructure and access to land, the government is seeking to address some of the basic requirements companies consider when selecting locations for industrial projects. Sarma also described Assam as “ready for business”, reinforcing the state’s efforts to attract greater private-sector participation.

Assam’s strategic location gives it access to the wider Northeast market and provides connectivity towards neighbouring countries and Southeast Asia. The state government has increasingly focused on using this geographic position to attract industries seeking opportunities beyond established industrial centres. Improved connectivity and infrastructure are also being presented as important factors in strengthening Assam’s role as a regional economic hub.
The latest investment appeal comes as the state seeks to expand private investment across sectors, strengthen its industrial base and create more employment opportunities. The government’s approach combines policy measures with infrastructure development and land availability, with an emphasis on reducing barriers for companies looking to establish or expand operations. Faster project implementation is also central to the investment pitch.
Sarma’s message signals that Assam intends to continue its outreach to investors and position the state as a competitive destination for businesses exploring opportunities in the Northeast. By stressing supportive policies, infrastructure and land access, the government is seeking to present Assam as a location where companies can establish operations and build a larger presence in the region.
