Ram Nath Kovind to Attend RSS Centenary Event
Former President to grace RSS centenary event in Nagpur.
The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) revealed that former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, will be the chief guest at its annual Vijayadashami Utsav on October 2, 2025, in Nagpur. The event, marking the RSS’s centenary celebration, will take place at 7:40 am at the iconic Reshimbagh ground, a traditional venue for the organization’s yearly Dussehra festivities.
The RSS shared the news via a post on X, highlighting the importance of the occasion as it commemorates 100 years since the organization’s founding in 1925. Former President Kovind, who served as India’s 14th President from 2017 to 2022, is expected to bring prominence to the event, which draws thousands of RSS volunteers, known as ‘swayamsevaks,’ from across the country. RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat will deliver the keynote address, continuing his tradition of addressing volunteers on Dussehra with insights on the organization’s vision and national issues.
The Vijayadashami Utsav is one of the RSS’s most significant annual events, symbolizing its commitment to cultural and national values. This year’s celebration, coinciding with the centenary, is anticipated to be particularly grand, with special programs planned to reflect on the RSS’s century-long journey of promoting social cohesion and national pride.
