Rajnath Singh Warns Terrorists, Says India Will Strike Inside Their Homes
Rajnath Singh warns terrorists citing Operation Sindoor.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday said India has adopted a “zero tolerance” approach towards terrorism and warned that the country will take strong action against threats, citing Operation Sindoor as an example of its response capability. He said India’s counter-terrorism policy is not limited to statements but represents a clear course of action. Addressing an event in New Delhi, Singh said India has communicated its position on terrorism to the global community and will respond firmly to attacks against the country.
In a pointed message, he said India would not hesitate to take action against terrorists beyond its borders when required. “We will strike against terrorism not just at the doorstep but by entering the house. The whole world saw this during Operation Sindoor,” Singh said. The defence minister’s remarks came while highlighting India’s growing defence capabilities and expanding role in global security. He said the country’s focus on indigenous manufacturing has strengthened its position as a defence partner and reduced dependence on foreign equipment.
Singh said India’s defence production has reached a record level of nearly Rs 1.78 lakh crore annually, reflecting significant growth in domestic manufacturing. He added that Indian-made defence products are now being exported to nearly 100 countries, marking a major shift in the country’s defence sector. The minister said India is no longer only producing military equipment for its own requirements but is emerging as a reliable security partner for other nations. He highlighted India’s increasing strategic importance from the Indian Ocean region to the wider Indo-Pacific.

“Today, India is not just manufacturing defence equipment for itself. India is becoming a credible security partner for the world. From the Indian Ocean to the Indo-Pacific, India's role is continuously strengthening,” Singh said. The government has been pushing initiatives aimed at expanding domestic defence manufacturing under the broader goal of achieving self-reliance in the defence sector. Singh said India is progressing towards its target of achieving Rs 3 lakh crore in defence production by 2029.
Operation Sindoor has remained a key reference point in the government’s messaging on counter-terrorism and national security. The operation has been cited by officials as an example of India’s willingness to respond strongly to security threats. Singh also emphasised that stronger defence manufacturing capabilities are essential for maintaining strategic independence. He said the growth of India’s defence industry will not only support the armed forces but also contribute to exports, innovation, and economic development.
The defence minister’s comments come amid India’s broader efforts to strengthen military preparedness and expand security cooperation with partner countries. With increasing focus on the Indo-Pacific region, New Delhi has been seeking a larger role in maintaining regional stability and maritime security. As India continues to expand its defence manufacturing base, the government has maintained that a combination of technological advancement, indigenous production, and strategic partnerships will be central to strengthening the country’s security framework in the coming years.
