Rajnath Singh Leads Inauguration Of National Agricultural Fair In Raisen Today

Rajnath Singh and CM Mohan Yadav will inaugurate Raisen agricultural fair showcasing modern farming technologies.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav are set to inaugurate the National-level Advanced Agriculture Festival (Unnat Krishi Mahotsav) on Saturday at the Dussehra Ground in Raisen. The three-day event, scheduled from April 11 to 13, aims to showcase modern agricultural practices and provide farmers with access to advanced technologies and market linkages.

The festival has been conceptualised as a large-scale agricultural initiative under the guidance of Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. It is being described as an “Agricultural Mahakumbh,” bringing together stakeholders from across the farming ecosystem to demonstrate innovations and practical solutions aimed at improving productivity and sustainability.

According to officials, the event will serve as a platform offering farmers a complete “Lab to Field” and “Seed to Market” model under one roof. It will feature demonstrations of advanced farming tools, training programmes, and interactive sessions designed to help farmers adopt modern agricultural techniques and improve income generation opportunities.

Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari is expected to attend the valedictory session on April 13, during which a regional agricultural development roadmap for Raisen, Vidisha, Sehore, and surrounding districts with similar agro-climatic conditions will be released. The roadmap is expected to outline strategies for long-term agricultural growth in the region.

The exhibition will host around 300 stalls representing government agencies, agricultural universities, research bodies, startups, and private sector companies. Key participants include ICAR, Krishi Vigyan Kendras, NAFED, and various agri-tech organisations showcasing innovations in precision farming, drones, micro-irrigation systems, soil health management, and post-harvest technologies.

The event is expected to attract thousands of farmers from Madhya Pradesh and neighbouring states. Organisers say the initiative aims to provide practical knowledge, reduce farming costs, and improve access to markets while supporting the broader goal of modernising Indian agriculture through technology-driven and farmer-centric approaches.
