Rahul Gandhi Honors Oommen Chandy on Second Death Anniversary in Kerala

Congress leader pays tribute, launches charity initiative

Congress leader and Lok Sabha Opposition Leader Rahul Gandhi paid heartfelt tribute to former Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at his grave in St. George Church, Puthuppally, on Friday, marking the second anniversary of Chandy’s passing. Gandhi laid flowers, lit a candle, and offered prayers at the site.

Following the tribute, Gandhi attended a memorial meeting organized by the Congress in Chandy’s hometown. As part of the event, he handed over keys to 12 newly built houses for the underprivileged, constructed by the Oommen Chandy Foundation. He also launched ‘Smrititharangam,’ a new charitable initiative to continue Chandy’s legacy of public service.

Gandhi arrived in Kerala on Thursday evening to participate in the commemorative program, underscoring Chandy’s enduring impact on the state and the party.
