Rahul Gandhi Appeals To Youth For June 17 Kota Protest Against Paper Leaks

Rahul Gandhi urges youth join Kota paper leak protest.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday called on students and young job aspirants to participate in the “Students’ Echo” (Chhatron Ki Goonj) protest scheduled to begin in Kota on June 17, amid ongoing allegations of exam paper leaks, cancelled examinations, and delays in government recruitment processes. In a post on X, Rahul Gandhi said that India’s youth were being “punished for daring to dream,” arguing that hard work was no longer guaranteeing success for millions of students.

He described repeated paper leaks, exam cancellations, and stalled recruitment drives as systemic failures that were undermining the aspirations of young people across the country. Gandhi urged students to come together in Kota and make their grievances impossible to ignore, stating that when governments fail to listen, citizens must raise their voices more strongly. He called for collective mobilisation, framing the protest as a broader movement for fairness and opportunity in education and employment systems.

The campaign, which will be launched from Kota, is expected to expand to other major centres in the coming days, including Allahabad, Patna, and Delhi. According to the Congress party, the initiative is intended to evolve into a nationwide student movement focusing on examination transparency, recruitment fairness, and accountability in public hiring processes.

Gandhi said the protest represented a fight for the future of India’s youth and reiterated his support for students facing uncertainty due to repeated disruptions in competitive examinations and recruitment cycles. He emphasised that the movement was aimed at highlighting the struggles of job seekers and ensuring that their concerns reach policymakers.

The Congress party has increasingly sought to make issues such as exam irregularities, paper leaks, and delays in government hiring a central part of its political messaging. Party leaders have accused the central government of failing to safeguard the integrity of competitive examinations, while positioning the “Students’ Echo” campaign as a platform to amplify student concerns at the national level.
