Raghav Chadha: AI Impact Summit 2026 Positions India as Major Global AI Player

India emerges as a key player in global AI discussions, says AAP MP Raghav Chadha at AI Impact Summit 2026.

India is increasingly being recognized as a significant voice in global artificial intelligence governance, Aam Aadmi Party MP Raghav Chadha said on Monday at the AI Impact Summit 2026. Speaking at the event, he highlighted India’s growing influence in discussions on how AI should be developed, governed, and deployed in the public interest.

Chadha emphasized that artificial intelligence is no longer merely a technology issue but a strategic one. He noted that countries with robust computing power and digital infrastructure are likely to dominate the AI era, defining the next phase of global geopolitical influence.

Pointing to what he described as three global monopolies in AI, Chadha said that control over AI design, manufacturing, and exports is concentrated in a few countries and companies. While India does not yet dominate these areas, it has a major advantage in human capital, he added.

The MP underscored India’s strong talent pool, stating that the world increasingly looks to the country for AI professionals and skilled manpower. However, he cautioned that talent without access to high-end computing resources and strong domestic infrastructure would limit India’s competitiveness on the global stage.

Drawing historical parallels, Chadha compared AI and semiconductor manufacturing to oil, gas, and steel in the 20th century, asserting that these sectors will shape geopolitical influence in the 21st century. He urged India to act decisively to secure its place in this emerging global order.

Earlier, Chadha shared his views on X, saying the summit represents a defining moment for shaping AI in the public interest. He stressed that the decisions taken today will influence governance, technological development, and citizen protection for years to come.
