A fire erupted in the afternoon in the kitchen of the McDonald’s outlet inside Star Mall, located on N.C. Kelkar Marg in Dadar West, Mumbai, causing alarm among shoppers and staff. The blaze started at approximately 3:32 PM, sending thick smoke within the busy mall area and prompting an immediate emergency response.
The Mumbai Fire Brigade (MFB), along with police, 108 ambulance teams, and local ward personnel, rushed to the scene. The MFB classified the fire as Level I at 3:48 PM and successfully contained the blaze within minutes despite challenging conditions created by dense smoke and confined spaces. Authorities confirmed that no casualties or injuries were reported during the incident.
The fire was confined to the kitchen section of the McDonald’s outlet, and swift containment prevented the situation from escalating into a major disaster in this crowded commercial hub.
