Priyanka Gandhi Holds Productive Talks With Gadkari on Kerala Infrastructure
Bhai-behen banter highlights cross-party Kerala roads meeting.
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, representing Wayanad in Kerala, held a productive meeting with Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari at his office within the Parliament complex on December 18, 2025, where she formally advocated for accelerated progress on six critical national highway projects traversing her constituency and other parts of the state.
Gadkari patiently explained jurisdictional boundaries, noting that several of the proposed roads fall primarily under the administration of the Kerala state government led by the Left Democratic Front, thereby restricting direct Central oversight, while assuring Priyanka Gandhi that he would personally review and expedite those segments within the purview of the National Highways Authority of India.
The otherwise formal discussion took a jovial turn when the Minister referenced his recent engagement with Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition, concerning infrastructure needs in Rae Bareli, humorously remarking that having already accommodated the brother's requests, he could hardly afford to neglect the sister's without inviting playful accusations of bias, eliciting hearty laughter from Priyanka Gandhi and her accompanying delegation.

Confident about the Congress party's prospects in the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections, Priyanka Gandhi conveyed to Gadkari that certain pending proposals currently stalled under the incumbent Left Front regime would receive immediate priority and swift implementation once her party assumes power in the state.
In a delightful departure from protocol, Gadkari shared a personal culinary creation—handcrafted rice balls accompanied by chutney—that he had meticulously prepared after studying instructional videos on YouTube, generously offering the delicacy to all visitors that day and insistently encouraging Priyanka Gandhi along with fellow Congress MP Deepender Singh Hooda to savour the homemade treat amid their ongoing conversation.
