Prior Regimes Left UP Underdeveloped, Unsafe and Rife with Mafia: CM Yogi

Yogi Adityanath: Previous Governments’ Incompetence Stunted UP’s Growth

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday criticized past administrations for leaving the state underdeveloped, unsafe, and rife with mafia rule, forcing youth and traders to migrate.

Speaking at a credit camp under the CM Yuva scheme in Jhansi, he credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for transforming UP into India’s second-largest economy and a key growth engine.

“Once deemed unsafe, with women insecure and youth fleeing, UP lagged due to incompetent governance,” Adityanath said. “Today, it boasts the most MSME units nationwide, generating millions of jobs.” He highlighted Bundelkhand’s revival, noting, “In 2017, it was gripped by despair and mining mafias. We promised to end that, and we’re delivering.”

The CM showcased the Maha Kumbh’s success—66 crore attendees from a 25-crore population—as evidence of UP’s rising stature.

He inaugurated a 200-bed smart hospital in Jhansi under a PPP model, featuring a 50-bed ICU and advanced diagnostics, and toured the revenue-generating Sky Museum, emphasizing self-sustaining projects.

Under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana, Adityanath urged youth to become job creators, not seekers, citing 1.5 lakh applications against an expected one lakh, with 30,000 already receiving loans.

“Innovation drives business,” he said, noting students who earned by ferrying Maha Kumbh devotees. He announced exhibitions on March 25, marking eight years of BJP rule, aiming to connect 1,000 youths per district to the scheme.

Adityanath unveiled the Bundelkhand Industrial Development Authority (BIDA), spanning 56,000 acres, poised to be India’s largest industrial township, with a pharmaceutical park in Lalitpur and a convention center in Jhansi.

He promised water for every home and farm, an MSP hike for wheat, affordable canteens, and hostels for working women, vowing to block any mafia resurgence. “Rani Lakshmibai’s spirit guides us to a self-reliant Bundelkhand,” he concluded.
