President Murmu to Visit Mathura Temples on Spiritual Tour

President Droupadi Murmu embarked on a spiritually significant day-long visit to Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, where she will offer prayers at several revered temples, including the iconic Shri Banke Bihari and Kubja Krishna temples. Arriving at Vrindavan Road railway station at 10 am aboard the opulent Maharaja Express train, equipped with a Presidential suite, deluxe accommodations, restaurants, and lounges, the President was warmly welcomed by dignitaries, including Minister for Sugarcane Development and Sugar Industry Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, Mayor Vinod Kumar Agarwal, and senior administrative and police officials.
The President’s itinerary is filled with visits to Mathura’s holiest sites. According to a statement from the President’s office, she will perform darshan and pooja at Shri Banke Bihari Temple, Nidhivan, Kubja Krishna Temple in Vrindavan, and Shri Krishna Janmsthan in Mathura. A special ‘maha aarti’ is planned at the 500-year-old Kubja Krishna Temple, where priests will offer prayers for world peace and the well-being of those battling critical illnesses, adding a profound spiritual dimension to the visit.
Security has been significantly bolstered across Mathura to ensure the President’s safety. District authorities have deployed over 4,000 police personnel, including eight companies of the Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) and Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) commandos. Central security agencies are also on high alert, with a no-fly zone enforced over the city to prevent any aerial threats. Senior Superintendent of Police Shlok Kumar emphasized that authorities are closely monitoring social media for suspicious activities, ensuring swift action against any potential disruptions.

To facilitate the presidential visit, traffic has been rerouted along the convoy’s path, and Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, prohibiting gatherings of five or more people, remains in effect to maintain order. The Maharaja Express, which brought the President to Mathura, is scheduled to depart from Mathura Junction in the evening, marking the conclusion of her spiritual journey before returning to Delhi.
President Murmu’s visit underscores Mathura’s cultural and religious significance as a hub of devotion, drawing attention to its sacred temples and their centuries-old traditions. The administration’s meticulous preparations reflect the importance of this high-profile visit, ensuring a seamless experience for the President and her entourage.
