President Murmu Prays for Mahadev’s Eternal Grace on Mahashivratri
Prez Murmu invokes Mahadev’s grace for nation’s progress on Mahashivratri.
On the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri, President Droupadi Murmu extended her heartfelt greetings to the nation, praying for the grace of Lord Mahadev to remain upon all citizens and for India to progress on the path of peace and development. Posting on X, she emphasized the spiritual significance of the day and its role in fostering unity and harmony.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah echoed the President’s sentiments, highlighting the blessings of Lord Shiva as essential for national prosperity. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also shared his greetings, invoking Mahadev’s grace to strengthen peace, unity, and security while wishing happiness and prosperity to all citizens.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari extended wishes on the sacred occasion, praying for the nation’s welfare and success. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath highlighted the spiritual significance of Mahashivratri, particularly the sacred bathing rituals at Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj, and offered prayers for devotees, saints, and sadhaks observing Kalpavas.

Across the country, devotees thronged Shiva temples and sacred ghats, performing rituals, offering prayers, and taking holy dips in rivers, celebrating the festival with devotion and fervour. The occasion also commemorates the divine union of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati, symbolizing spiritual balance and cosmic harmony.
Mahashivratri, celebrated with night-long prayers, music, meditation, and traditional ceremonies, is one of the most significant Hindu festivals. Authorities ensured smooth arrangements at major pilgrimage sites, reflecting the event’s growing spiritual, cultural, and social importance across India.
