President Droupadi Murmu has approved the Central Government’s recommendation to summon the Monsoon Session of Parliament from July 20 to August 13, 2026. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju announced the dates on Saturday, confirming that both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha will meet during the session. The nearly four-week parliamentary sitting is expected to focus on debates, discussions and decisions concerning several issues of national importance.
Announcing the schedule, Kiren Rijiju said the President had approved the summoning of both Houses of Parliament following a recommendation from the Government of India. The Monsoon Session will formally begin on July 20 and continue until August 13. During this period, members of the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha will take part in legislative business, discussions and debates on matters placed before Parliament.
The Parliamentary Affairs Minister said the session was being convened to enable meaningful debate, discussion and decisions on important national issues.
