Prashant Kishor Seeks CVs From Bankipur Families For Job Placement Drive

Jan Suraaj Party leader Prashant Kishor has promised to help at least 10,000 unemployed youths from Bihar’s Bankipur constituency secure private-sector jobs over the next one to two years. Days after winning the Bankipur by-election, Kishor made the announcement during his first visit to the constituency since the victory, where he met residents as part of a thanksgiving programme. He urged families with educated but unemployed children to prepare their CVs and biodata and submit them to his office for consideration.

Kishor said he plans to use his network of contacts with companies and individuals across India to connect eligible candidates with employment opportunities. He clarified, however, that he could not promise government jobs through the initiative. He also acknowledged that some candidates could initially have to move outside Bihar to find suitable employment. His stated goal is to help at least 10,000 families in Bankipur find jobs for their children during the next one to two years.

During his interaction with residents, Kishor also responded to criticism that he had remained away from the constituency for several days after his election victory. Defending his absence, he said he was focused on working for the people of Bankipur rather than travelling elsewhere. He told supporters that his efforts would now be directed towards addressing issues affecting young people and families in the constituency.

Kishor said the employment situation could change significantly if the Jan Suraaj Party eventually forms the government in Bihar. In that scenario, he said, the party would work towards creating sufficient employment opportunities within the state so that young people would not be compelled to migrate to other parts of the country in search of work. The promise reflects employment and migration as key issues in his political agenda.

Apart from employment, Kishor identified education, a monthly pension of Rs 1,100 and access to food grains as four major priorities for Bankipur. He said these areas would remain central to his efforts in the constituency. The focus on employment comes at a time when job opportunities for educated young people remain a major political issue in Bihar, where migration for work has been a longstanding concern.

The announcement marks one of Kishor's first major employment-focused initiatives in Bankipur following his by-election victory. By asking families to submit the CVs of unemployed youths, he has sought to create a direct channel through which candidates can potentially be connected with private-sector employers. Kishor's target of assisting 10,000 families over the next one to two years will now depend on the availability of suitable private-sector opportunities and the ability of his network to match candidates with employers.
