Political Firestorm Erupts As Rahul Gandhi And Dharmendra Pradhan Clash Over Clip
Rahul Gandhi reacts to viral controversial political clip row
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday launched a sharp attack on Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over a political controversy linked to remarks on students protesting alleged exam irregularities. Gandhi demanded a public apology from the minister and called for his resignation, accusing the government of mishandling concerns raised by young aspirants across the country.
The row escalated after a social media post by the so-called Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), which shared a video clip of Pradhan allegedly referring to the group as a “B team of terrorists.” The clip quickly circulated online, triggering strong reactions from opposition leaders who accused the minister of using inappropriate language against protesting students and political critics.
Reacting to the controversy, Gandhi accused the government of displaying arrogance toward students who are seeking accountability in examination processes. He argued that the protesters were raising legitimate concerns related to fairness, transparency, and their future prospects, and should not be labelled in a derogatory or extreme manner. In his remarks, he said the government had gone to the extent of equating students with “terrorists,” which he described as unacceptable in a democratic setup.

Gandhi further said that young people in the country were increasingly frustrated due to repeated allegations of irregularities in competitive examinations and recruitment processes. He claimed that instead of addressing these concerns, the government was responding with hostility. According to him, such an approach undermines trust in public institutions and worsens the distress faced by aspirants preparing for high-stakes exams.
The Congress leader also demanded accountability from the Education Minister, insisting that he should immediately clarify his remarks and take responsibility for the fallout. Gandhi stated that public representatives must be sensitive when speaking about students and job seekers, especially in a climate where unemployment and exam-related controversies have already sparked widespread protests in several states.
The controversy has added to the ongoing political confrontation between the ruling party and the opposition over education and recruitment issues. While the government has defended its handling of examinations and recruitment systems, opposition leaders continue to allege systemic failures and lack of transparency. The latest exchange between Gandhi and Pradhan is expected to further intensify the debate as both sides trade accusations over the treatment of student protest movements and the broader state of the education system.
