PM Modi's Explosive NDA Speech to Shake Up Politics

PM Modi to address NDA MPs on critical issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to deliver a high-stakes address at the BJP-led NDA parliamentary party meeting on Tuesday, marking a significant gathering of the ruling alliance's MPs after a prolonged hiatus. The meeting, scheduled just before the vice presidential nomination process begins on August 7, is poised to tackle pressing national issues and set the tone for the NDA’s strategy.

With the Monsoon Session of Parliament disrupted by Opposition protests over the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar and the recent Pahalgam terror attack, Modi’s speech is expected to address these controversies head-on. The prime minister is likely to counter allegations of the poll body’s bias toward the government while highlighting his administration’s decisive military response to the terror strike, Operation Sindoor.

The NDA, bolstered by its majority in the electoral college of 782 MPs from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, is preparing to announce its vice presidential candidate by August 21, the final nomination date. A potential Opposition candidate could lead to a poll on September 9, but the NDA’s numbers ensure a near-certain victory.

Sources indicate that Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, alongside BJP national general secretaries, is coordinating with allies like the TDP, JD(U), and LJP (Ram Vilas) to streamline the vice presidential election process. The NDA’s unity will be on full display, with Modi expected to be felicitated for his government’s swift action against terrorism.

Since the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, when the BJP fell short of a solo majority but secured a comfortable win with allies, the parliamentary party meetings have expanded to include coalition partners. Modi’s last address to this group was on July 2, making Tuesday’s meeting a critical platform to rally allies and MPs.

The prime minister is known for using these meetings to outline governance priorities, address political challenges, and equip MPs with talking points for their constituencies. With the Opposition intensifying its attacks, Modi’s speech is expected to energize the NDA while setting a bold agenda for the remainder of the parliamentary session.
