PM Modi welcomes Finland President Stubb, anticipating stronger ties and his Raisina Dialogue keynote address.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday for a state visit, receiving a ceremonial welcome and a Guard of Honour. He was received at the airport by Minister of State for External Affairs V. K. Singh, marking the start of a visit expected to strengthen bilateral ties between India and Finland.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed President Stubb on X, noting that the visit would elevate India-Finland relations to “new heights.” Modi expressed his eagerness for their upcoming meeting and for Stubb’s keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, India’s premier international conference on strategic affairs.

President Stubb, in his post on X, highlighted that he would meet with the President of India, Prime Minister Modi, and other members of the Indian leadership. He emphasized that the visit would advance Finland-India cooperation, particularly in trade and economic engagement, reflecting a shared interest in deepening bilateral partnerships.

During his visit, Stubb is scheduled to deliver the keynote speech as Chief Guest at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, where he is expected to address regional and global strategic issues. His participation underscores Finland’s growing engagement with India on diplomatic, economic, and security fronts.

The visit represents a continued effort by both nations to expand trade, investment, and strategic collaboration. Officials noted that talks would also explore innovation, technology partnerships, and avenues to enhance people-to-people connections, reinforcing the broader scope of India-Finland relations.
