PM Modi Visits AIIMS Delhi; Checks on Vice-President Dhankhar’s Health

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi to inquire about the health of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi to inquire about the health of Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, who was admitted early this morning after experiencing chest pain and uneasiness. The 73-year-old Vice-President was rushed to the hospital around 2 am and admitted to the Critical Care Unit (CCU) under the supervision of Dr. Rajiv Narang, Head of the Cardiology Department at AIIMS. Sources report that Dhankhar’s condition is stable, and he remains under close observation by a team of medical experts.

Expressing his concern, PM Modi took to X, stating, “Went to AIIMS and inquired about the health of Vice President Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar Ji. I pray for his good health and speedy recovery.” The Prime Minister’s visit underscores the significance of Dhankhar’s well-being, given his prominent role as the 14th Vice-President of India, a position he has held since August 11, 2022. Earlier in the day, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda also visited AIIMS to check on the Vice-President, reflecting the government’s attention to the situation.

Dhankhar, a seasoned politician with a career spanning roles such as Governor of West Bengal and a Member of Parliament, was recently in Mumbai for an official engagement. His admission to AIIMS follows complaints of discomfort, prompting immediate medical attention. While details of his treatment remain limited, hospital sources confirm stability, offering reassurance amid national concern. Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also expressed their prayers for his swift recovery via social media.
